This page provides additional notes regarding customer's use of
an Online site. To view demo Online websites, please click
here.
The core purpose of an Online site is to present your store/organization's
rental inventory. Customers can browse your inventory based on categories
or conduct full searches based on a variety of criteria. Individual
items can be viewed with an item picture, full item information, real-time
availabilities and show an embedded YouTube movie if desired. Your site
can also be set up to allow customers to make reservations for future
dates, request items immediately, or both.
In additonal to rentals your site can be setup up to sell products.
If you have a physical store your potential customer base for sales
is probably just a few thousand - with an online store is can be converted
into millions! For both physical and online only stores this is an
especially good way to sell off ex-rental inventory.
As standard online sites can be set up in either English or Spanish.
However, if preferred, the site can be translated into any language
of your choice - this is done as a customization after basic setup
is complete.
When a customer requests an item (or submits a reservation request)
on your Online site the availability is immediately blocked out for
that customer so that no other customer can double book the item.
Note: to prevent abuse of this system by any given customer each customer
can be set a limit for the amount of items that can be allocated to
their account at any given time.
Each customer may maintain his/her own personal wishlist of items
that they wish to rent. All changes they make to their wishlist are
automatically downloaded to the main store database - this means that
if you are running an Online only store you have the customer's wishlist
easily to hand when processing transactions or if you are running
a physical store the wishlist can also be accessed when the customer
visits the store.
Each customer can view a full description of their current status
in the "View Current Status" page. This page shows up to date status
information for each item (both sales and rentals) the customer has
requested. When an
item is requested it is shown as awaiting processing. When the store
processes the item the status changes to either dispatched or rejected
(if the store decided not to process the request for any reason).
Finally, when the customer returns the item the status changes to
returned and the date the return was processed by the store is displayed.
The customer can therefore track the progress of their order without
having to contact the store directly, saving hours of unnecessary
administration time.
Additionally, when items are rented/sold through the Process Online
Requests screen an email can be sent to the customer (this option
can be switched off if preferred) to notify them that their order
status has been updated.
If required, payment processing for rentals (for pay-as-you-go customers)
and sales can be incorporated into your site as a customization. The
recommended payment processing solution is PayPal due to the ease
with which it can be implimented.
