All rental, return, reservation, customer update and item update operations
conducted in Video Vision Plus are, within moments of being conducted,
updated to your Online database. This allows customers browsing your
site see real time availabilities
for your store's rental inventory. The updates are conducted by a
special program that runs silently in the background on your main
The following process is used when customers make requests for immediate rentals using Online.
If the model being used is the traditional 'Netflix' wishlist driven online rental model, please see the "Processing Wishlists" section (below) for an explanation of the process used in this situation. The process for reservations is discussed in the "Processing Reservation Requests" section (below).
Online rental requests can be processed with the minimum of effort. Requests are viewed through a special screen in Video Vision Plus from which they can be printed (allowing the actual items to be collected from their physical location) and a new transaction can be quickly initiated with all the items in the customer's request pre-added to the transaction.
Step 1: Load the Online requests screen - all requests
awaiting processing are displayed:
Step 2: Simply double click the request you wish
to process and all the immediate rental requests pending for that
customer will automatically be added to a new transaction for the
Step 3: Complete the transaction - an email will be sent to the customer notifying them that their order status has been updated (optional) and you are returned to the Online requests screen to continue processing the next request.
Reservation requests are also detailed in the Online requests screen. These are not however added to the transaction automatically and must be processed manually in the normal way.
If your store is using a traditional Online unlimited rental model
then Video Vision Plus then the whole return and rental process can
be managed with the minimum of effort. The wishlist screen can be viewed from the transaction screen and items appearing in the customer's wishlist screen can be added directly
to the transaction with just a double click of the mouse!
Step 1: Begin a new transaction for the customer.
Step 2: Scan in the items being returned:

Step 4: Double click the item to be rented to add it to the transaction:
Step 5: Complete the transaction - an email will be sent to the customer notifying them that their order status has been updated (optional).
